Human Remains Found In Big Bear Home Destroyed In Fire

BIG BEAR (CBSLA.com) — Human remains were found Wednesday in a house destroyed in a fire the night before.

The remains of a deceased male were found Wednesday morning, after authorities stabilized the collapsed home with special equipment, San Bernardino Sheriff's officials said.

The fire had been reported at 9:36 p.m. in the 500 block of Waynoka Lane, near Dream Street, when firefighters arrived to see the home fully engulfed in flames.

Firefighters were able to put out the fire, but the home had partially collapsed and was completely destroyed, official said. Neighboring properties suffered minor to moderate damage.

The identification of the remains and the cause of death will be determined and released by the Coroner's office, sheriff's officials said.
