Human Bones Found By Caltrans Cleanup Crew Along 10 Freeway

CLAREMONT (CBSLA.com) — Police investigated Tuesday the discovery of human remains alongside the 10 Freeway in Claremont.

Caltrans workers stumbled on the human bones as they conducted roadside cleanup at around noon Monday, according to Claremont police Lt. Mike Ciszek said. The discovery was made near the eastbound on-ramp of the 10 Freeway at Indian Hill Boulevard.

The California Highway Patrol responded to the area and confirmed the bones were human and called in Claremont Police to investigate.

The remains were removed by the Los Angeles County Coroner's Office. The cause of death or identity of the victim is not known at this time.
