Mule Put Down After Being Struck By Vehicle On PCH In Malibu

MALIBU (CBSLA.com) — One lane was closed Monday morning on the Pacific Coast Highway in Malibu after a mule was struck by a vehicle.

The animal was struck by a vehicle around 6:40 a.m. in an eastbound lane on the PCH at Heathercliff Road, Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department Lt. James Royal said.

Due to the extent of the injuries, a veterinarian had to put down the mule at the scene.

The driver of the vehicle was uninjured, officials said.

One eastbound lane of the PCH was closed until about 9:30 a.m.
