Homicide Investigators Probe Death Of 2-Year-Old Girl In Long Beach

LONG BEACH (CBSLA.com) —   Detectives with the Los Angeles County Homicide Bureau are investigating the death of a 2-year-old girl in Long Beach.

Officials were dispatched to the 2500 block of East Jackson Street on Wednesday evening.

The father said he found his 2-year-old daughter unresponsive just before midnight.

The girl's father called 911, requested medical assistance and began to perform CPR.

Paramedics arrived and transported the child to a local hospital where she was later pronounced dead.

Authorities said there are no obvious signs of foul play.

The cause of death will be determined by the Los Angeles County Department of Medical Examiner-Coroner.
