Homicide Detectives Question Hawthorne Woman's Son After She's Found Dead

LOS ANGELES (CBSLA.com)   — Detectives with the LA County Sheriff's Homicide Bureau are investigating the circumstances of a woman's death in Hawthorne.

The adult female was found dead Saturday around 4:45 p.m., officials said.

The victim was found deceased in the 12700 block of Inglewood Avenue. She was pronounced dead at the scene.

Saturday evening, LA County Sheriff's announced they have detained the woman's son for questioning.

Officials said family members were concerned after not hearing from the victim. They went to her residence to see if she was there and allegedly found her son at the location.

The woman's identity is being withheld until all her family is notified.

The cause of death will be determined by the Los Angeles County Coroner, officials said.
