Homicide Detectives Probe Possible Find Of Human Remains In Azusa

AZUSA (CBSLA.com)   —  Authorities are investigating the possible finding of human remains in Azusa.

The Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department says Homicide Bureau detectives were dispatched to the area of 15200 San Gabriel Canyon Road around 12:20 p.m. Sunday to investigate the circumstances surrounding possible find.

Late Sunday, detectives said they believe they found "fossilized human bones." They said the remains were discovered by local patrons.

The Coroner's Office has recovered the remains said will work with detectives to try to identify the victim.

Sheriff's said it was unknown at this time how long the remains had been in the area.
