Homicide Detectives Investigate Shooting Death Of Man In San Gabriel

SAN GABRIEL (CBSLA.com) — Homicide detectives investigated the circumstances surrounding the shooting death of a man in San Gabriel on Monday.

Shortly after 7:30 p.m. on Sunday, officers were sent to the 1900 block of South Brighton Street for report of an assault with a deadly weapon, according to the San Gabriel Police Department.

"When they arrived at the location, they found a male Hispanic adult suffering from an apparent gunshot wound," said Deputy Trina Schrader.

Paramedics transported the victim to a hospital where he later died. His identity is being withheld pending family notification.

According to detectives, the suspect is an adult man who was last seen running eastbound from the scene.

The investigation is ongoing.
