Homicide Detectives Investigate Shooting Death Of Man In North Hollywood

NORTH HOLLYWOOD (CBSLA.com) — Homicide detectives investigated the circumstances surrounding the shooting death of a man in North Hollywood on Monday.

Shortly after 9 p.m. on Sunday, officers were sent to Saticoy Street at Bellaire Avenue for report of shots fired, according to the Los Angeles Police Department.

Upon their arrival, authorities located a man believed to be in his 40s suffering from a gunshot wound in the back.

Paramedics transported him to Providence Holy Cross Medical Center in Mission Hills, however, he died along the way.

The victim's identity is being withheld pending family notification.

A preliminary investigation revealed a fight occurred in the street prior to the shooting.

Witnesses reported hearing three gunshots following the fight.

Two to four men fled from the scene in a white Honda four-door sedan prior to officers arrival.

The motive for the shooting remains under investigation.
