Homicide Detectives Investigate Shooting Death Of Man In East LA

EAST LOS ANGELES (CBSLA.com) — Homicide detectives continued to investigate the shooting death of a 48-year-old man Tuesday in East Los Angeles.

On Monday, deputies were sent to the 100 block of South Bonnie Beach Place for report of an assault with a deadly weapon call, according to the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department.

Upon their arrival, authorities located an adult Hispanic man suffering from an apparent gunshot wound.

Paramedics pronounced the victim dead at the scene. His identity is being withheld pending family notification.

"Witnesses stated that they heard gunshots, but did not see any suspects or vehicles in the area," said Deputy Mike Barraza.

The investigation is ongoing.
