Homicide Detectives Investigate Fatal Shooting In South LA

SOUTH LOS ANGELES (CBSLA.com) — Homicide detectives investigated the circumstances surrounding a shooting that killed a 19-year-old man in South Los Angeles early Friday morning.

According to the Los Angeles Police Department, a male victim -- later identified as Justin Kieshawn Alexander Logie -- stood around 2:00 a.m. in front of a home, located in the 100 block of East Florence Avenue, when an unknown suspect approached and shot him multiple times.

Police explained the suspect then fled from the scene in an unknown direction.

Paramedics located Logie on the sidewalk next to an SUV, and pronounced him dead at the scene.

The motive for the shooting remains under investigation.

Detectives explained it appeared that the shooting occurred during a for of dispute.

Florence was shut down east of Main St. during the investigation.
