A source confirmed to CBS2 that the unidentified suspect has reportedly been in custody since February on unrelated accusations.

According to that source, the suspect was connected to the crime scene in La Verne through DNA.

The victims, identified as Shirley Isom, 74, and Armie Isom, 89, died Dec. 26.

Shirley was pronounced dead inside the couple's hilltop estate in the 300 block of Roughrider Road, while Armie was taken to a hospital but later died.

The Sheriff's Department says officials are expected to release further details Wednesday afternoon during a news conference.
