Homeless Man Gets 6 Years In Prison For Choking, Stabbing Boy, 11, Outside Disney Hall

LOS ANGELES (CBSLA.com)   —  Authorities said a homeless man who attacked an 11-year-old boy outside Walt Disney Hall last December, has been sentenced to six years in state prison.

Raul Villalba Ocampo, 33, entered his no contest plea to one count of child abuse before being sentenced by Los Angeles County Superior Court Judge Craig Veals.

Deputy DA Irene Lee prosecuted the case.

The boy was on a field trip and standing outside the Walt Disney Concert Hall when Ocampo assaulted him on December 10, 2015.

The DA said Ocampo placed the boy in a choke-hold and stabbed  his neck with a sharpened key. Ocampo continued to hold onto the boy until security personnel were able to intervene.
