Elderly Man Tied Up, Robbed At Rancho Palos Verdes Home

RANCHO PALOS VERDES (CBSLA.com) — An elderly man was recovering Wednesday from minor injuries sustained during a home invasion robbery in Rancho Palos Verdes.

According to the Lomita Sheriff's Station, deputies were sent to a home located in the 2000 block of Van Karajan Drive for report of a robbery.

Upon their arrival, authorities learned two suspects forced entry into the elderly man's residence and used a phone cord and belt to tie him up, CBS2's Jasmine Viel reported.

At one point, the homeowner was able to escape to a neighbor's home, who then reported the incident to authorities.

It wasn't immediately known what was taken from the home.

The victim was unable to tell deputies if the suspects were armed.

Detectives said the residence appears to be owned by an 89-year-old doctor.

The investigation is ongoing.
