Hit-And-Run Driver Sought In Fiery Crash At East LA Yogurt Shop

EAST LOS ANGELES (CBSLA.com) — Authorities searched for a hit-and-run driver Tuesday after a vehicle slammed into a yogurt shop in East Los Angeles.

According to the East Los Angeles Sheriff's Station, deputies were sent shortly after 1:30 a.m. to the 5400 block of Whittier Boulevard for report of a hit-and-run collision.

Upon their arrival, authorities learned a vehicle crashed into Red Berry Frozen Yogurt.

The vehicle's engine caught on fire and spread to the business as result of the crash.

The Los Angeles County Fire Department was called to assist at the scene.

Authorities said the collision does not appear to be intentional.

It remains unclear if the vehicle was stolen.

No injuries were reported.

The cause of the crash remains under investigation.
