Hit-And-Run Driver Shears Fire Hydrant In Willowbrook

WILLOWBROOK (CBSLA.com) — Authorities Thursday searched for a hit-and-run driver who is suspected of shearing a fire hydrant in Willowbrook.

Shortly after 3 a.m., crews were sent to Rosecrans Avenue and Main Street for report of a car versus a fire hydrant, according to the Los Angeles County Fire Department.

Upon their arrival, authorities located a pole down with wires around it.

Golden West Water Company were notified of the downed wires and were called to the scene.

A preliminary investigation revealed a vehicle sheared a hydrant before the driver fled from the scene.

Crews were able to turn off water to the hydrant shortly before 5 a.m.

No injuries or street closures were reported.
