Hit-And-Run Driver Shears Fire Hydrant In Monterey Hills

MONTEREY HILLS (CBSLA.com) — Authorities Tuesday searched for a hit-and-run driver who sheared a fire hydrant in Monterey Hills.

The crash unfolded in the 3600 block of Monterey Road near Cassatt Street, according to police.

The driver fled from the vehicle following the crash.

The sheared hydrant sent water flooding into the area, subsequently damaging nearby vehicles.

It took firefighters about an hour to turn water off in the area.

No injuries were reported.

The cause of the crash remains under investigation.
