Hillary Clinton Begins 2-Day Visit To Southern California
LONG BEACH (CBSLA.com) — Former Secretary of State and possible presidential candidate Hillary Rodham Clinton begins a two-day visit to Southern California Tuesday with a luncheon fundraiser benefiting the Boys & Girls Club of Long Beach.
Clinton, also a former U.S. Senator and former First Lady, is considered by many to be the leading candidate for the Democratic Presidential nomination in 2016.
The Boys and Girls Club luncheon is a stop made by many high-profile dignitaries, including two former British prime ministers, former Secretary of Defense Robert Gates, Rudy Giuliani and her own husband, former President Bill Clinton.
About 250 people are expected to attend the event, which is hosted by a local law firm. Ticket prices range from $1,500 each to $50,000 for a table.
On Wednesday, Clinton will deliver the third annual Luskin Lecture for Thought Leadership at UCLA's Royce Hall. She will also accept the UCLA Medal, the university's highest honor.
Past lectures have been delivered by her husband and former United Nations Secretary General Kofi Annan. Tickets are $250 and $500, and proceeds benefit the greatest needs fund of UCLA's College of Letters and Science.
Following the lecture, Clinton will participate in a question-and-answer session with UCLA professor Lynn Vavreck.
