Hiker Rescued After Fall On Trail Near Rancho Mirage

RANCHO MIRAGE (AP) — A hiker who suffered a fall on a canyon trail near Rancho Mirage has been rescued by a California Highway Patrol helicopter.

Cal Fire-Riverside County firefighters were called to the Magnesia Falls trailhead Saturday morning and began to hike in when a CHP helicopter spotted the hiker, a woman who had fallen about 20 feet.

Another CHP helicopter crew hoisted the patient and transferred her to awaiting paramedics. Cal Fire says she was taken a hospital for treatment of moderate injuries.
