High Wind Warning Issued For Riverside County

RIVERSIDE (CBSLA.com) — Strong and potentially damaging Santa Ana winds will blow through Riverside County Friday.

According to the National Weather Service, a high wind warning for the mountain areas and the valleys will expire at 2 p.m. Saturday.

A less severe wind advisory fro the Coachella Valley and the San Gorgonio Pass zone will run from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday. The forecast for this area calls for winds of 20 to 30 with gusts of up to 50 mph.

A red flag warning for the valleys will extend from noon to 6 p.m. today.

The winds may create hazardous driving conditions and could possibly down trees and power lines.

The offshore winds will begin to dissipate Saturday afternoon, followed by warmer weather and only light winds on Sunday.
