High Wind Warning Issued For LA County, San Gabriel Mountains

LOS ANGELES (CBSLA.com) — A high wind warning was issued Wednesday for Los Angeles County and a portion of the San Gabriel Mountains, the National Weather Service said.

The warning will be in effect through 3 a.m. Thursday with winds of 58 miles or more expected.

A wind advisory has also been issued for the Antelope Valley from 3 p.m. to 10 p.m. and from 3 p.m. to 10 a.m. Thursday in the Santa Monica Mountains, and the Santa Clarita and San Fernando valleys.

Drivers of high-profile vehicles were warned about blowing sand and dust and downed power lines along Interstate 5, the 14 Freeway and Pearblossom Highway.
