Cost Of High-Speed Train Connecting LA And San Francisco Jumps To $80B
LOS ANGELES (CBLSA) — The estimated cost to complete California's high-speed railway has jumped to $80 billion.
Construction of the railway is on track to have 20-percent of the tracks laid by 2022.
However, some lawmakers are hoping to pull some of the funding away from the project and use the funding to help urban commuters in Los Angeles and San Francisco.
The goal is to have the high-speed rail connecting L.A. and San Fransisco finished by 2033.
