Only On 9: High-Speed Pursuit Of Carjacking Suspect Ends With Foot Bail In Montecito Heights

ALHAMBRA (CBSLA.com) — Officers scoured a residential community Wednesday night in Montecito Heights after a carjacking suspect ran from the vehicle.

Police tried to initiate a traffic stop around 10:15 p.m. in Alhambra.

The suspect made a concerted effort to elude officers, driving away in excess of 100 mph, Stu Mundel reported from SKY9.

The driver stopped the car at Lincoln Park and Emma avenues, jumped out and ran through residential property.

Officers used search dogs to locate the man hiding in a backyard. He came out and surrendered without incident.

As of 11:30 p.m. Wednesday, police had not yet released his name.
