High-Speed Chase Of Suspected Stolen Vehicle Is Caught On Tape

WEST COVINA (CBSLA.com) — A man suspected of leading authorities on a high-speed pursuit of a stolen vehicle was behind bars, authorities said Saturday.

The unidentified suspect is accused of carjacking the vehicle in question at gunpoint in the city of El Monte.

He then reportedly led police on a high-speed pursuit, traveling on the wrong side of road at one point, according to police.

The chase ended in West Covina when the vehicle became disabled.

Police said the suspect was discovered within the perimeter they had established, and was arrested.

Authorities said there are outstanding suspects although it remains unclear how many.

Police said a gun was not recovered.
