High School Wrestling Coach Arrested On Suspicion Of Sexual Misconduct In Torrance

TORRANCE (CBSLA.com) — A 47-year-old man was arrested Wednesday on suspicion of child annoyance and molesting children on multiple occasions.

Thomas Joseph Snider, of Torrance, turned himself into detectives without incident, according to the Torrance Police Department.

"The investigation began in January after allegations of sexual misconduct had been made by several students," explained Sgt. Paul M. Kranke.

Officers explained Snider was employed as a teacher and wrestling coach at Torrance High School.

The school district placed him on administrative leave while authorities conducted the investigation.

Snider has been charged with 33 felony counts of lewd acts upon a child, and eight misdemeanor counts of child annoyance. He is being held on $900,000.

His arrest concluded a three month investigation with the Los Angeles County District Attorney's Office.
