High School In Fontana Placed On Lockdown During Search For Possible Weapon

FONTANA (CBSLA.com) — Deputies placed a high school on lockdown Tuesday after receiving report of a possible weapon on campus.

According to the Fontana Sheriff's Station, deputies were sent shortly after 11 a.m. to Bloomington High School for report of a possible weapon on campus.

A preliminary investigation revealed a student notified school security about two male juveniles who were seen possibly in possession of a handgun.

Deputies said the two students were not found in possession of a weapon. However, they have been transported to the Fontana Sheriff's Station for further investigation.

The high school has been placed on lockdown as a precautionary measure while authorities continue to search all areas of the school.

At this time, a weapon has not been located.

According to deputies, the lockdown will remain in effect until the search is complete.
