Hesperia Man Sentenced To Prison In Deadly DUI-Related Crash

SAN BERNARDINO COUNTY (CBSLA.com) — A Hesperia Man was sentenced to prison for his role in a deadly DUI-related crash.

According to the San Bernardino County District Attorney's Office on Friday, Doyle Webster, 51, was ordered to spend 30-years in state prison.

Deputy District Attorney Shannon Faherty said Webster was attending a family party in Lucerne Valley on May 10, 2011. He decided to take his 24-year-old niece, Danielle, on a ride on his ATV.

The family advised Danielle not to go along because Webster had been drinking, Faherty added.

"About a quarter of a mile from the house, Webster ran through a stop sign," Faherty said. "He and Danielle were hit by a driver in a Jeep Cherokee."

According to authorities, the driver of the Jeep Cherokee did not have a stop sign and was not speeding.

Danielle died of blunt force injuries as a result of the impact, officials said. She was not drinking at the party.

Webster pleaded guilty at his sentencing on Wednesday to gross vehicular manslaughter with intoxication, assault with a deadly weapon, five counts of dissuading a witness and a misdemeanor DUI.
