Hemet Businesses Hit By String Of Robberies

HEMET (CBSLA.com) — Thieves have long targeted Paradise Liquor in Hemet. On Sunday night, a thief was caught on camera stealing $1,600 worth of scratch-off lottery tickets.

The liquor store is just one of several Hemet businesses hit by a string of robberies recently.

The Hungry Bear restaurant, which has not yet opened, was also recently robbed.  The owner says someone spray-painted over the security system and stole several TVs and two computers.

A yogurt store and barber shop were also recently hit.

Hemet police said they were able to find and arrest the suspect in connection with the lottery ticket robbery near the liquor store.

Police do not believe the robberies are related.
