Help Needed To Identify South Pasadena Restaurant Burglar

SOUTH PASADENA (CBSLA.com) — Police asked for the public's help Wednesday to identify a man they say is responsible for a series of early morning restaurant burglaries in South Pasadena.

The most recent burglary happened Tuesday morning at the Barkley Restaurant, 1400 Huntington Drive, at about 5:40 a.m., South Pasadena police officials said. The burglar forced his way into the restaurant by prying open a rear door, then searched the office area but left without taking anything.

Police say Tuesday's break-in was the fourth in a series restaurant burglaries in South Pasadena this month. The similarity of the time of the break-ins, method of entry and suspect descriptions have led detectives to believe the burglaries are related.

The suspect in Tuesday's burglary was described as a black man in his 30s with a goatee, short cropped hair, wearing light-colored sweat pants and a pull-over sweat jacket.

Anyone with information about the burglar's identity or the burglaries can contact South Pasadena Police Department detectives at (626) 403-7280.
