Help Needed To Identify Smash-And-Grab Robber In Torrance

TORRANCE (CBSLA.com) — Police need the public's help to catch a man they say robbed $27,000 worth of jewelry from a Torrance pawn shop.

The robbery happened at 10:30 a.m. Aug. 15 at Big Store Pawn Shop, 1623 Cabrillo Ave. Police say the suspect shattered the display window and removed several trays of rings and earrings.

The suspect was last seen fleeing southbound on Cabrillo Avenue into the Crest Bar parking lot.

The merchandise that was taken was worth $27,000, police said.

The suspect was described as a black or Latino man in his early to mid-20s, 5-foot-9 to 6 feet tall, with a thin build, wearing a "California All-Diamond black T-shirt, dark pants and dark shoes.
