Help Needed To Identify Huntington Beach Bank Robber

HUNTINGTON BEACH (CBSLA.com) — Police asked for the public's help Thursday in identifying a man they say robbed a bank in Huntington Beach last week.

The robbery happened last Saturday at about 9:25 a.m., when a man entered U.S. Bank, 9042 Garfield Ave., and approached a teller window, Huntington Beach police Lt. M. O'Brien said.

The robber passed a note to the teller, demanding cash, and indicated he had a firearm, even though no weapon was seen, according to O'Brien.

He received an undisclosed amount of cash and fled the bank toward Garfield Avenue.

The suspect was described as a white man between 25 and 30 years old, about 6 feet tall with a thin build and short dark hair.

Anyone with information about the robbery or who recognizes the suspect can call the Huntington Beach Police Tip Line at (714) 375-5066.
