Help Needed To Capture Armed Robber In Fontana

FONTANA (CBSLA.com) — Police asked for the public's help Thursday to identify a man who robbed a convenience store at gunpoint in Fontana.

Police say an AM/PM convenience store in the 1400 block of Foothill Boulevard was robbed at about 2:21 a.m. Wednesday. The suspect pretended to be purchasing an item, and once the cash register was open, he showed a black handgun in his waistband and demanded money from the clerk.

The robber fled with an unknown amount of cash and fled the store on foot, police said.

He was described as a Hispanic man in his 20s, about 5-foot-6, 180 pounds, with a thin build and a goatee, wearing a blue and black jacket and a Pittsburg Steelers black T-shirt.

Anyone with information about the robbery or the robber's identity can call an anonymous tip line at (909) 350-8477.
