Help Needed In Identifying Highland Bank Robber

HIGHLAND (CBSLA.com) — Detectives asked for the public's help Friday in identifying a bandit who robbed a Highland bank.

The robbery happened Thursday at a Chase Bank, 7195 Boulder Ave., when a man handed the bank teller a note, saying he had a weapon and demanded money. The teller complied and turned over about $5,000, San Bernardino County sheriff's officials said.

The robber left the bank in an unknown direction, authorities said.

He was described as a white or Hispanic man, wearing a long-sleeved button-down shirt and a black "Kangol"-style hat, with an average build, about 5-foot-6 and possibly wearing a wig or fake hair extensions.

Anyone with information about this robbery or the suspect can contact detectives Mike Brandt or Jorge Lozano at (909) 425-9793.
