Heavy Rains Lead To Partial Washout Of Highway 247 In San Bernardino

SAN BERNARDINO (CBSLA.com) —  A flash flood warning has been issued for east San Bernardino County, according to the National Weather Service.

Heavy rains have led to a washout of Highway 247 in San Bernardino, according to the CHP.

The heavy rain has washed out the road near Lucerne Valley. The CHP said Highway 247 is closed from Reche Road, north of Yucca Valley at the intersection.

CBS2 meteorologist Amber Lee says flash floods have been reported near Needles and the Needles KOA Campground.

"The storm is producing heavy rains and moving north at about 15 miles per hour," she said.

The flash flood warning was canceled as scheduled, just before 4 p.m., reported CBS2 and KCAL9 weathercaster Kaj Goldberg.
