Haylie Duff Talks About 'The Real Girl's Kitchen'

STUDIO CITY (CBSLA.com) — Host of the Cooking Channel's newest show, Haylie Duff, visited the KCAL9 studios Friday to talk about the "Real Girl's Kitchen."

Melon and Burrata with Pesto

Ingredients:
• 1 Melon
• 1 handful Burrata
• 2 cups fresh basil
• 3 cloves garlic
• 1 tablespoon olive oil
• 1/3 cup pine nuts
• 1 teaspoon lemon juice
• 1 pinch lemon zest
• 1/2 teaspoon crushed red pepper
• 1/2 teaspoon sea salt
• 1/2 teaspoon black pepper

Steps:
• Remove seed and rind from melon
• slice melon into thin pieces
• Arrange the sliced melon on a plate in a fan
• Roll a handful of burrata into a ball
• Place burrata in center of plate

For Pesto:
• Combine basil, garlic, olive oil, pine nuts, lemon juice and zest, red pepper, sea salt and black pepper in a vitamin or food processor
• Blend until desired thickness
• Place a scoop of pesto on top of the Burrata
• Let pesto slide over the cheese
