Hamilton Plays, Singles In First Spring Game For Angels

   TEMPE, Ariz. (AP) — Josh Hamilton had an infield single in his first spring game of the year in the Los Angeles Angels' 7-6 loss to the San Francisco Giants on Monday.

Hamilton went 1 for 3 for the split squad. The five-time All-Star and 2010 AL MVP has been hampered by a sprained left calf muscle.

Hamilton started a three-run fourth inning against Giants starter Tim Lincecum with a base hit off first baseman Mark Minicozzi's glove.

Lincecum, a two-time NL Cy Young Award winner, allowed seven hits and five runs in 5 1-3 innings.

Angels starter Hector Santiago allowed three runs in 5 1-3 innings.

San Francisco second baseman Marco Scutaro made his first spring appearance and went 1 for 2.

The Giants scores four runs off Joe Smith in the ninth.
