Half-Acre Grass Fire Snarls Traffic Along 110 Freeway In Elysian Park

ELYSIAN PARK (CBSLA.com) — Firefighters contained a half-acre grass fire Friday in the area of Elysian Park.

The fire erupted shortly before 5 a.m. in the 800 block of Academy Road, according to the Los Angeles Fire Department.

Crews attacked the flames from the ground and air.

California Highway Patrol officers have subsequently closed at least two northbound lanes of the 1110 Freeway near Dodger Stadium until further notice.

Just before 7 a.m., firefighters contained the blaze.
