Car Collides With Big Rig On 60 Freeway In Hacienda Heights; 1 Killed
HACIENDA HEIGHTS (CBSLA.com) — A motorist was killed Thursday after crashing into a big rig truck on the 60 Freeway in Hacienda Heights.
The crash unfolded shortly after 4:00 a.m. in the eastbound lanes of the freeway just before Hacienda Boulevard, according to California Highway Patrol officers.
Los Angeles firefighters said the passenger vehicle became wedged underneath the semi-truck as a result of the crash.
Paramedics pronounced the driver dead at the scene. The victim's identity is being withheld pending family notification.
Two eastbound lanes will remain closed until further notice, police said.
The cause of the crash remains under investigation.
