Grinch Steals Christmas Toys From West Valley Food Pantry In Woodland Hills

WOODLAND HILLS (CBSLA.com) —  The Grinch is already working overtime.

Someone or some group stole toys earmarked this holiday for some needy kids about a week ago.

The toys were being kept a temporary storage bin at the West Valley Food Pantry in Woodland Hills just behind the Prince of Peace Church (5700 block of Rudnick Avenue.)

Police have scoured security video but have reportedly not come up with any leads.

"This is devastating for us," said Debbie Decker with the West Valley Food Pantry, "We have 800 children depending on us to give them a Christmas they deserve."

Organizers estimate the loss at about $5,000 worth of toys and games. They are asking new elves to come forward to help replenish the stolen toys that were to go to kids ages 1-16 for an event to be held next Saturday.

Donations drop off 10 a.m. - 3 p.m.  from Dec. 15th - 18th or by clicking here.
