Grand Terrace Man Arrested On Suspicion Of Stalking High School Student At Her Work

GRAND TERRACE (CBSLA.com) — Authorities Friday announced the arrest of a 42-year-old man who is accused of stalking a high school student at her job.

According to the San Bernardino County Sheriff's Department, Shaun Torstvet, of Grand Terrace, is accused of stalking a female high school student while she worked at her part-time job located in the 22200 block of Barton Road.

The stalking originated shortly before 5 p.m. on Wednesday, when Torstvet looked at the victim while parked in his vehicle, followed her, and continued to position himself closer and closer to her.

Deputies explained the victim's manager confronted Torstvet after he was seen on several occasions, and warned police would be notified.

Torstvet allegedly ignored the warnings, and fled the store parking lot prior to deputies arrival.

According to city officials, the victim was able to provide an accurate and detailed description of the suspect and his vehicle.

Torstvet turned himself to Sheriff's Headquarters on Thursday, and was arrested on suspicion of stalking. Records show he posted bail shortly before eight o'clock this morning.

Deputies encouraged residents to be aware of their surroundings, and to remain vigilant at all times. Any suspicious behavior should be reported to law enforcement.
