LOS ANGELES (CBSLA.com) — Do you have a large circle of friends?

If so, new research out of England shows they could be powerful painkillers.

Researchers suspect social interactions increase feel-good hormones called endorphins in the brain.

And the more social interactions a person has, the better their pain tolerance.

The research is published in the journal "Scientific Reports."
