GOP VP Nominee Mike Pence On Comments By Donald Trump In Leaked Video: 'I Was Offended'

INDIANAPOLIS (CBSLA.com) — A day after the release of a 12-year-old recording in which Donald Trump is heard making lewd comments about women, Mike Pence has broken his silence.
In a statement released on Saturday, the Republican vice presidential nominee said he was "offended by the words and actions described by Donald Trump" in the clip, which was recorded in 2005.
He went on to say, "I do not condone his remarks and cannot defend them. I am grateful that he has expressed remorse and apologized to the American people. We pray for his family and look forward to the opportunity he has to show what is in his heart when he goes before the nation tomorrow night."
Pence's comments come a day after the clip was released in which Trump was heard boasting about kissing women, and attempting to be with a married woman.
Following the release, Trump issued a video statement in which he apologized on Friday night.
Pence was scheduled to attend a campaign rally in Wisconsin with House Speaker Paul Ryan, but was said to no longer be attending, according to the Associated Press.
