Good Samaritan Replaces Stolen Water Slide In Whittier

WHITTIER (CBSLA.com) — It looked like summer would be a wash out for a local family after their water slide was stolen early Wednesday morning.

Following a CBS2 News report on Wednesday night a good Samaritan decided to donate a new water slide to the family. Jimmy Reyes delivered the slide Friday afternoon to the Whittier home.

The kids' grandmother said the outpouring of support from the community has warmed her heart.

"I really appreciate it from the bottom of my heart. I really do," Phyllis Espinosa said to Reyes.

"Everybody is just commenting and pouring their hearts out for you guys. You've got a lot of support in the community," said Reyes to Espinosa and the grandkids.

It took some time and some heavy duty inflation but the slide is now up and running and ready for a whole summer of fun.
