GoFundMe Accounts Help Victims Of Hit-And-Run, Spaceship Crash

LOS ANGELES (CBSLA.com)   —  GoFundMe accounts set up this weekend helped, in particular, the loved ones of four people killed on Friday -- three 13-year-olds struck in a hit-and-run accident in Santa Ana and Mike Alsbury, the test pilot killed in the Virgin Galatic crash in the Mojave Desert.

Two separate GoFundMe pages were established over the weekend for the teens.

Twins Lexi and Lexandra Perez were killed along with friend Andrea Gonzalez.

Over $22, 000 has been donated to the Perez family as of Sunday evening. Friends and family were trying to raise $10,000.

As of 10 p.m. Sunday, a Gonzalez page -- created by Dr. Jim D'Agostino, the principal of the school she  attended -- raised about $13,500 with a goal of $15,000.

Meanwhile, a GoFundMe page in Alsbury's memory has raised $34,742 of $50,000 in just one day. The page was established Saturday by his friends and co-workers to help Alsbury's wife and two children.
