Girl, 8, Killed In Palmdale After Car Crashes Into Pole

PALMDALE (CBSLA.com)  — An 8-year-old girl was killed in Palmdale when the car she was riding in crashed into a pole early Wednesday, authorities said.

The driver was also injured.

Jahzaree Gladden of Palmdale died at the scene. The crash occurred about 2:10 a.m. at Tierra Subida Avenue and Fifth Street West, said coroner's Assistant Chief Ed Winter.

The condition of the injured motorist, and the driver's relationship to the child, were not immediately known.

The circumstances of the crash were under investigation.
