Gas Prices This Labor Day Lowest They've Been Since 2004
LOS ANGELES (CBSLA.com) — There is good news for anyone traveling via car this Labor Day: gas prices are the lowest they've been since 2004.
On Monday, the National Average for a gallon of regular gas was $2.21. That's 20 cents cheaper than this time last year.
The summer of low gas prices has meant big savings for drivers - almost $19 billion as compared to last year.
In fact, the average U.S. household was expected to pocket an extra $320 in savings this year thanks to the low gas prices.
Locally, gas prices range from $2.33 per gallon in Los Angeles County, to $2.39 per gallon in Ventura County.
