Gas Line Rupture Prompts Street Closure In Mar Vista Area

LOS ANGELES (CBSLA.com) — A natural gas line ruptured at a construction site in Mar Vista Monday, prompting officials to close a nearby street.

The leak was reported around 12:3o p.m. in the 3500 block of South Centinela Avenue, according to Katherine Main of the Los Angeles Fire Department.

Centinela Avenue was closed from Palms Boulevard to Rose Avenue, but no evacuations were ordered.

Officials were able to shut off the affected service line.

No other details were immediately available.
