Gang Member Convicted Of Killing Chinese Restaurant Owner

ALHAMBRA (AP) — Los Angeles County jurors deliberated a day before convicting a 28-year-old gang member of first-degree murder for killing the owner of a Chinese restaurant in a car at his Alhambra home.

The jury also found gun and gang allegations to be true against Xia Lin of San Gabriel. Lin faces 50 years to life in prison when he is sentenced Dec. 1.

Prosecutors say Lin went to Qui Jin Fang's home on Sept. 22, 2013, and shot the 43-year-old victim several times. The gun was found in a fanny pack in a nearby theater.

Two witnesses saw Lin and called police.

Officers stopped Lin and found a hoodie and ski mask next to him. DNA evidence was found on the trigger of the gun and inside the mask.
