Gang Member Arrested In Connection With Deadly OC Stabbing

WESTMINSTER (CBSLA.com) — A 37-year-old documented gang member was arrested on Friday in connection with a deadly stabbing that took place outside a popular pub in Orange County.

According to the Orange County Sheriff's Department, Craig Tanber was taken into custody by SWAT team members at Motel 6, located in the 13100 block of Goldenwest Street.

Tanber is accused of killing a 22-year-old man at Patsy's Irish Pub on Golden Lantern Street in Laguna Niguel, around 12:15 a.m. on Monday.

The victim was identified as Shayan Mazroei, of Laguna Niguel, according to the Orange County Coroner's Office.

A preliminary investigation revealed Tanber and Mazroei were involved in an altercation before the stabbing occurred.

According to deputies, Tanber is a known gang member who has a significant criminal history.

He is being held on $1 million at the Orange County Jail on charges of murder.

Tanber is expected to appear in court on Tuesday.
