Gamers Gather IRL For BlizzCon In Anaheim

ANAHEIM (CBSLA.com) — Video game fanatics are gathering IRL -- or In Real Life -- at the Anaheim Convention Center this weekend for BlizzCon.

Up to 25,000 people are expected to attend this year's BlizzCon, where gamers and enthusiasts will suit up as their favorite characters to talk about everything from "Diablo" to "World of Warcraft."

The event, put on by Irvine-based video game maker Blizzard Entertainment, will give gamers a chance to compete against each other in major prize tournaments, get their hands on the newest BlizzCon games and even compete in costume competitions.

BlizzCon wraps up Saturday night with a private performance from Metallica.

Tickets to BlizzCon are sold out, but the latest announcements from the event will be streamed live at www.blizzcon.com.
