'Game Of Thrones' Coffee Cup Digitally Removed After Going Viral

LOS ANGELES (CBSLA) — After fans of HBO's "Game of Thrones" noticed a familiar looking beverage in Sunday night's episode, the coffee cup mistakenly left in the scene has been digitally removed, an HBO spokesperson confirmed.

During one scene, a modern take-out coffee cup can be seen sitting on top of a table in front of Daenerys Targaryen (Emilia Clarke) for about 2 seconds just before the 17:40 mark.

The out-of-place cup has now been digitally edited out of the episode on HBO Now and HBO GO, an instead shows an empty stretch of the table.

Many people said the cup resembled the familiar Starbucks logo, leading Twitter users to start the hashtag #Starkbucks, a nod to the show's House Stark.

The show's director, Hauke Richter, reported to TMZ that the cup was in-fact from a local coffee shop in Northern Ireland where many of the scenes are filmed.

HBO released a cheeky response saying Monday saying, "The latte that appeared in the episode was a mistake. Daenerys had ordered an herbal tea."

Fans took to social media to share photos of the out-of-place cup.
